Why does paying for someone's attention make my enquiry more credible?

Ordinary cold outreach costs nothing to send, so a recipient has no way of telling a serious approach from a bulk campaign. Putting money behind a single enquiry is a cost only somebody who genuinely wants that person to see it will accept, and that fact is visible before the message is even read.

Free messages carry no signal

The reason good cold emails go unread is not that they are badly written. It is that nothing separates them from the hundred that were sent by a tool. When sending is free, volume always wins, and the rational response for a busy person is to stop reading the channel entirely.

What the money actually does

  • It filters. Nobody runs a thousand-message campaign when each message costs real money.
  • It signals. The recipient can see you chose them specifically and backed that choice.
  • It compensates. Reading an unsolicited proposition properly and answering it takes real time.

What you are buying, and what you are not

You are buying proper consideration and a substantive answer within 72 hours. You are not buying agreement, a meeting or an introduction, and no considered answer can be bought in advance.

A reasoned no is a legitimate result, and often a useful one: it may tell you the timing is wrong, the fit is wrong, or who the right person actually is. If the reply is not substantive, you can report it and you are not charged.

How to write one worth answering

  • Say who you are and why this particular person, in the first two lines.
  • Make the ask specific and answerable in one reply.
  • Say what happens next if they are interested, including how to reach you directly.
  • Send one enquiry to the right person rather than five to near-misses.
